ebay

November 10th, 2006

The Star Trek Enterprise went for $40 on ebay. I’ve just put 5 more cutters up including my skull. I designed my skull so that I would not have to decorate it to make it look like a skull.

Enterprise – Kirk’s

October 10th, 2006

We had a great time at the postponed Galactic Playground. Tom and Patty provided refreshments. Black angus burgers with all the trimmings and great beverages. Even greater were the friends who showed up to play and a few sci-fi fans who seemed to have fun. Dishes were broken – it was a good time. I haven’t built up the courage to put my pic up in my little Jane Jetson getup. We’ll see when the next Galactic attempt is made. I’ll make sure you know about it.

The fun thing about the Galactic fair is that I can display things from the future (or the future as science fiction sees it). So, I can put out cutters shaped like rockets, or shuttles or anything else that says space…

The Enterprise is one of those shapes that just doesn’t work at Renaissance events. As of 11:25 today, it is on ebay. We’ll see what happens.—–

Bad News & Something Good

September 30th, 2006

Unfortunately, Tom Wilson was forced to postpone the Galactic Playground indefinitely, due to a lack of interest from vendors. That’s the bad news. Now the good: he is opening the site for free on Sunday, October 8, 2006 to anyone who may be disappointed and wants to come play. Some of us still like to do that. Kaitlyn’s Kutters and Fairapy will be there disguised as “Milky Way Kookie Kutters” and “Flying Saucers”. (thank you Susan and Doormouse) I will be wearing my fun Jane Jetson type outfit. Hubby will be a hitchhiker with his guide and a towel. So put some aluminum foil on your head and come on out to Corona. Refreshments will be served.

Galactic Playground

September 18th, 2006

I’ve been bending some fun spacey cutters for the Galactic Playground coming up October 7 & 8. I’ll put pictures of at least one of the handcrafted cutters (probably the Star Trek Enterprise) up within the week and maybe me in my Ursa Major costume as soon as I get up the courage to put it on and have hubby take a picture. It ought to be a fun fair and certainly a change from the Renaissance Festivals and Faires that we usually do. Hubby is wearing one of the many easy and comfortable costumes: pj’s, bathrobe, towel and “Hitchhiker’s Guide”. I know there will be probably be people from earth wearing aluminum foil on their heads to keep the many aliens from reading their minds. It seems like a pretty wide open costume party – anything spacey. Our next door neighbors plan to attend in Star Trek uniforms. Hope to see you there.

Deepest Apologies for Missing San Diego

September 17th, 2006

To everyone who missed me in San Diego, my deepest apologies. I truly missed being there. It is a beautiful faire full of wonderful people. Unfortunately, I was hit with a bug that knocked me flat on my back. I’m up and around now and bending metal.

Comic-Con

July 31st, 2006

San Diego’s Comic-Con was amazing, as always. The “Superman” kutter set (Superman & his logo shape), “Wonderwoman” & logo and Cat Woman all went home with people at the Art Show. I didn’t get to meet them. So did “Batman” (& 2-piece logo). I did meet the darling girl who bought it and asked me to autograph the back of the frame. That was a first. Thank you.
Meeting the people who buy each cutter has always been such a joy. It is something I miss in situations like the con, where I set up my kutter displays and just leave them. But, I did meet a huge number of other people – record crowds! The picture below is just one of the many intersections used by conventioneers.

Boy, was it hot!

July 17th, 2006

Well, we survived the 100+ temperatures for the last weekend of Pyrate Faire. At least it wasn’t as humid as the weekend before. Our next stop will be beautiful San Diego, California for the International Comic Convention. There will be fantasy cutters plus some comic and cartoon characters displayed in the Art Show at the Convention Center. I will be setting up the display July 19 and the cutters will be there through Sunday, July 23. In August, we’ll be back in San Diego for the San Diego Renaissance Faire. It’s a fun one if you’re in the area.

Pyrate Faire

June 19th, 2006

For two weekends: June 24-25 and July 1-2, the Cutthroats of Corona will be having the Golden Age Pyrate Festival. On Saturdays, we will be open from 11am to 9pm and Sundays 11am to 6 pm.. I just checked the extended weather forecast and the temperature is expected to get up to 75 degrees both days of the first weekend. Doesn’t that sound perfect? If you’re in the area, you really should see the village when it goes completely pirate. Much more comfortable than Renaissance attire. More information may be found at www.cutthroatsofcorona.org

Last Weekend of Koroneburg

June 9th, 2006

This is it! June 10th and 11th are the last days of this year’s Old World Renaissance Festival. We are expecting the temperatures to be 82 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday. It will be a welcome relief after the triple digits last weekend. Hope to see you there!

We’re Open!

May 9th, 2006

Well, Koroneburg officially opened to the public on April 29. It has been heavenly. Our little village has grown and evolved so much, and the vines at the cottage have really grown, so that our cottage is completely shaded with a living green canopy. Besides being absolutely gorgeous with its purple flowers, the temperature drop under the leaves is amazing. Handcrafting my cookie cutters in this wonderful setting while watching people break dishes across the road at the Fairapy booth – what a fun way to spend the weekend.
