KAITLYN’S KUTTERS IS BACK

May 18th, 2011

This is Weebul (my Ric) at the Kutter Cottage.

We are at the village of Koroneburg this year for the last time (as far as we know). The renters did not come through for the cottage, so we are doing the faire one last time and putting the cottage and Fairapy up for sale. If you are in Southern California, we will be there every weekend through Father’s Day. Ric is only there on Saturdays and he’s doing great at that. The village just gets prettier every year, and the vines are coming back at the cottage.

Our place in Huntington Beach is also going up for sale. The latest plan is to move to the Arizona place in July. But, we’ve seen plans change before.

I am back to bending metal after an educational period of finding out everything I never wanted to know about liver disease, diabetes, herbs and vegan diets. I still cheat and have fish and eggs, but Ric is sticking to the strict vegan diet.

I lost a lot of emails in March and I’m catching up on a lot now. If you’ve put in a request, you’ll finally hear back. I just gave up for awhile. But, like I said, I’m back. The ebay store will be coming back too.

House M.D. Filmed in Koroneburg

April 24th, 2010

The Renaissance Faire in Corona, CA (Koroneburg) will begin May 8th. Come see the place where House M.D. episode “Knight Fall” was filmed. Our little neighborhood in Koroneburg was chosen to be the Renaissance Faire in that episode for good reason. It is the only permanent ren faire site in California. The buildings and site just get more beautiful every year, and of course, our area of the faire is the best.
Those of you who have experienced our Fairapy booth will notice that the top floor is missing along with the window that showed the noggin’ bonkin’ upstairs. They put a new roof on the Fairapy building though and it does look good. Dishes will still be broken inside.
The cookie cutter booth became a weaver’s shop and our next door neighbors, the Hedgehogs, had their building become the apothecary shop (where the hemlock was found).
We’ve all been going out there on weekends to get the site looking great for the upcoming faire. Come join us and see the actual film site including the arena where the knights were fighting. See for yourself why Koroneburg was chosen.

Still here

February 10th, 2010

Hello all,
Well we’re still in California, until we sell this place. As John Lennon said, “Life is what happens while you’re making other plans”. In September, my doctor thought I’d had a stroke and an mri showed a little tumor. I thought I would have it removed in January, but life happens. My husband Ric (Weebul at Faire) ended up in the hospital January 2 throwing up blood. Besides bleeding ulcers, his liver was damaged and he is now diabetic. He went in the hospital a second time on the 19th and is home now. We’re trying to get his blood sugar (and ammonia) balanced. Meanwhile, I’ve been a care giver instead of a cookie cutter maker. He is doing better now and I’m going to try to get the kutters going again. Don’t give up, I’m still here. I’ll see the surgeon on the 17th and hopefully get rid of the tumor.

In California for another month

August 29th, 2009

together

Right now, I’m here in Huntington Beach trying to get this place ready to sell. I’ve been painting, tiling, putting up new light fixtures…Boy, would I love “Designed to Sell” to come in and help.
I’m hoping to have it ready by the end of September. At that time I will take both kitties and move to Arizona. Hubby Ric will sit on the house till it sells.
I am still making cookie cutters and have gotten some more cutters up on ebay. The contact button is working again thanks to my brilliant son Jason. So, let me know if you need a special cutter.

New Kitty

August 15th, 2009

sami-twisted

It is August and we have a new kitty – actually 2 new kitties. This is Sami. He was found dumped in a parking lot when he was only 5 weeks old. He is now over 4 months old (neutered) and we got a 5 month old spayed female to be his companion. He really relaxes when he sleeps. Here he is twisted while napping.

Hopefully, we’ll have the California place ready to sell in a month or so, and I’ll be taking the furballs to Arizona while hubby Ric stays until the home sells. It’s a seven hour drive and I’m training the kitties to walk on a leash with a harness. I figure the rest stops will be for them to stretch their legs too. I’ll be so glad when that’s over and we’re in Arizona.

Koroneburg Starts May 7, 2009

May 4th, 2009

piratefaire2009

The Pirate Faire was a lot of fun – for us and for the attending pirates. A number of baby buccaneers attended this year – we’ve had a veritable explosion of baby fair persons. We are really looking forward to the next six weekends + Memorial Day, when our village comes to life. Hope to see you there.

In California for the Pirate Festival in Corona

April 21st, 2009

April 25-26, the permanent village of Koroneburg (in Corona, CA) will be turned into our Pirate Village. This is our 5th Annual “Cutthroats of Corona” Golden Age Pyrate Festival. We’ll be open from 11am till 9pm on Saturday and 11am till 6pm on Sunday. The night time faire on Saturday is especially magical. For more information go to: discoverlore.org

Alright, here is a picture of a beautiful fairy cookie made by Monrovia Bakery, using my new kneeling fairy design. It looks like I’ll be able to get pictures up again.

In California

March 25th, 2009

I’m back in California. We’re trying to sell the Huntington Beach place – not the best time to be trying to sell. We’ve got Pirate Faire coming up in April. The 25-26 weekend is when Koroneburg becomes a pirate village and I like to make skulls and crossbones, pirate ships and, of course, lots of mermaids… It’s a fun time!

I’m getting together with my son to find out why I can’t seem to upload my pics to the web site. I’ve got some beautiful cookie pictures from Monrovia Bakery – you’ve just got to see them to believe them. The fairy was made with a new design of mine, a kneeling fairy. Then you don’t have to worry about legs breaking off.

The Cookie Cutter Collectors Club is getting ready for their big convention in California in 2010. I’m really excited about it. I missed the 2008 convention in Wisconsin last year and they only have them on even numbered years.

I’ll get back to you with lots of pics.

Arizona

February 2nd, 2009

What a year! We finally got the mortgage closed. It was supposed to close by October 28, 2008, but the banks just stopped! It got pretty scary there for a bit and we had to clean out all our savings to come up with an extra $17,000 down. But, it’s done and I’m on my way to Arizona to get my office set up. It’s already been painted and my desk is in. Hubby Ric finally saw it in person a couple of weeks ago. He says it’s better than the 4000+ pictures show it.

I designed a new fairy. She’s sitting with her knees bent so the breakoff danger is less. Monrovia Bakery got the first one and made the most beautiful cookies. I’ll try to get pics. The Ebay will be getting redone soon and the kookie kutters will be up and running.
