We’re Open!

May 9th, 2006

Well, Koroneburg officially opened to the public on April 29. It has been heavenly. Our little village has grown and evolved so much, and the vines at the cottage have really grown, so that our cottage is completely shaded with a living green canopy. Besides being absolutely gorgeous with its purple flowers, the temperature drop under the leaves is amazing. Handcrafting my cookie cutters in this wonderful setting while watching people break dishes across the road at the Fairapy booth – what a fun way to spend the weekend.

April 22 is Preview Day

April 7th, 2006

Although our Renaissance festival doesn’t actually open until April 29, we will be having a preview day on April 22. Patrons can come in to shop and see what goes on to get the village ready. Since it is a permanent site, we don’t have to tear down every year, so it just keeps getting better. I will have at least one bagpiper ready for faire. Check out this handcrafted cookie cutter.

Angels

April 3rd, 2006

I like to make my angels without a pattern. They just show up. Of course each handcrafted cookie cutter is signed with the K for Kaitlyn.

Fun for all occasions

April 2nd, 2006

This is a fun set of handcrafted cookie cutters that we like to use for Jimmy Buffet concerts. The parrot cookies are really fun to decorate.

When Pigs Can Fly…

April 1st, 2006

Here’s a fun mythical creature called a pigasus – a flying pig. Just one example of a real handcrafted cookie cutter. Each one is bent by hand in food quality tin-plated steel and soldered with silver. I’m looking for the right copper for future cutters.

Excitement is building!

March 31st, 2006

Faire starts the end of April and I’ve been making lots of cookie cutters in all shapes and sizes. Remember, you can draw your own cookie cutter design or trace a child’s or grandchild’s hand and have a cutter handcrafted just for you. Check out the tools used to make the cutters. They really are made by hand – no jigs or hand-cranked machines. I hope to have instruction pages up soon.

Ok folks. Any of you who have tried the contact form and didn’t get a reply, try again. The problem should be fixed. Let’s find out.

Rat Races Coming Back to Corona

February 12th, 2006

Yesterday was hiring day at the permanent Renaissance site in Corona, CA. A lot of people showed , new and old, and a good time was had by all. Hookah, Amanda and Doormouse were there and the vines at the kutter kottage are now under control, thanks to them. The kottage and yard have never looked better. And, speaking of better, we got the wonderful News that Woodsmen Rat Maze Races is coming back to Koroneburg . In case you are not familiar with the Rats, it’s a fun group of people, led by Mark Breeding, who race live rats on an unusual race course with it’s own story. You get quite a show ,plus there is a petting area where you can pet, feed and learn more about rats. 2006 is starting out to be fantastic. Welcome back, Rats! April 29, 2006 is opening day for the spring festival and we’re all looking forward to a really great faire.
